I have to say, we need to keep all the jobs in the US that we can, as there are a lot of new technologies in the pipeline that will throw millions out of work in the next few years. We also need to accept the fact that wages will go up if we only allow citizens and legal residents to work. If we did not have the intentional creation of an underclass as we do, Americans could get those jobs. It seems to me to be exceedingly cruel to pretend that jobs exist for the unskilled, while encouraging the poor from the whole rest of the world to come here illegally and take them from them.

Also, we need to dramatically improve spending on the school system or in ten or fifteen years, we wont be able to employ any American workers..

I agree. I wasn't going to write a diary until I read that Janet Napolitano was actually considering emulating Richardson. If HRC jumps aboard this...then the Republicans will actually gain traction on immigration which we sure as hell do not need.
